PeriCatch is a clinical decision support aid — a structured tool that helps patients and healthcare providers apply evidence-based perimenopause staging criteria to clinical information. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional medical evaluation.
Scoring criteria are aligned with The Menopause Society's published clinical staging guidelines. PeriCatch is created by Agnes Laseinde, MD, DABFM, MSCP — a board-certified family physician and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner — as part of the MetaboLoop clinical tool suite.
02
Specifically, the assessment tool:
This is by design, not default. Health information entered into a perimenopause assessment is sensitive. We made a deliberate architectural decision to process everything client-side so that we cannot access it even if we wanted to.
03
If you request access to PeriCatch, we collect:
Access-request data is stored in Supabase (EU data center) with Row Level Security enabled. Your email address is not readable via our public API key. It is accessible only to PeriCatch's authenticated administrators.
To request removal from our records, email privacy@pericatch.com and we will delete your record within 5 business days.
04
PeriCatch uses PostHog (EU Cloud, Frankfurt data center) for anonymous usage analytics. PostHog is configured with:
We track page views and access-request signups (role and interest only — never your email address) to understand how the tool is being used and to improve it. No personally identifiable information is included in any analytics event.
Because no cookies are set and no persistent identifiers are stored, PeriCatch does not require a cookie consent banner under GDPR, PIPEDA, or equivalent frameworks.
05
PeriCatch is designed and operated as a clinical decision support (CDS) tool, not a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
In the United States: PeriCatch is intended to qualify for the CDS exemption under Section 3060 of the 21st Century Cures Act. It displays its basis for recommendations transparently (The Menopause Society's published guidelines) and is designed so that clinicians can independently review, verify, and override its outputs without relying on the software's logic alone.
In Canada: PeriCatch is designed with Health Canada's Software as a Medical Device Pre-market Guidance (February 2025), pending formal classification engagement with Health Canada. In the interim, PeriCatch is available as a clinical information tool only and should not be relied upon as a regulated medical device.
06
The information provided by PeriCatch is for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice and is not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis, treatment, or care.
Always seek the advice of your physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or experienced through PeriCatch.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. PeriCatch is not designed for emergency use.

PeriCatch is developed by Agnes Laseinde, MD, operating under the MetaboLoop brand. This privacy policy and the use of PeriCatch are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada and applicable federal Canadian law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Users accessing PeriCatch from the United States acknowledge that the tool is operated from Canada and that their information (if any is provided via an access request) may be processed and stored in Canada and the European Union (Supabase EU data center).
08
This policy may be updated as PeriCatch evolves — particularly as Canadian regulatory engagement progresses and the tool moves toward a formal Health Canada classification. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
