What PeriCatch Is

PeriCatch is a clinical decision support aid — a structured tool that helps patients and healthcare providers apply evidence-based perimenopause staging criteria to clinical information. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional medical evaluation.

PeriCatch does not: diagnose, prescribe, treat, or replace the clinical judgment of a qualified healthcare provider. Results are informational only and should always be reviewed with a licensed clinician. All clinical decisions remain the responsibility of the treating provider and patient.

Scoring criteria are aligned with The Menopause Society's published clinical staging guidelines. PeriCatch is created by Agnes Laseinde, MD, DABFM, MSCP — a board-certified family physician and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner — as part of the MetaboLoop clinical tool suite.

Your Assessment Data

Nothing you enter during the assessment is stored, transmitted, or retained. The entire PeriCatch assessment runs inside your browser. When you close or navigate away from the page, all input is gone. We have no access to your responses.

Specifically, the assessment tool:

  • Does not send your responses to any server during or after the assessment
  • Does not store anything in browser local storage, cookies, or session storage
  • Does not link your responses to your identity in any way
  • Does not retain data after your session ends

This is by design, not default. Health information entered into a perimenopause assessment is sensitive. We made a deliberate architectural decision to process everything client-side so that we cannot access it even if we wanted to.

Access Requests & Contact Information

If you request access to PeriCatch, we collect:

  • Email address — to notify you when your access is ready
  • Role — patient, physician/HCP, researcher, or investor — to send you relevant information
  • Area of interest — optional, to understand which version of the tool is most relevant to you
  • UTM parameters — if you arrived via a link, we record the campaign source so we understand how people find us

Access-request data is stored in Supabase (EU data center) with Row Level Security enabled. Your email address is not readable via our public API key. It is accessible only to PeriCatch's authenticated administrators.

We do not sell, share, rent, or otherwise disclose your email address or any other access-request information to third parties. Ever. We will use it only to contact you about PeriCatch and related MetaboLoop clinical tools.

To request removal from our records, email privacy@pericatch.com and we will delete your record within 5 business days.

Analytics

PeriCatch uses PostHog (EU Cloud, Frankfurt data center) for anonymous usage analytics. PostHog is configured with:

  • Cookieless mode — no tracking cookies are set on your device
  • Memory-only persistence — no data written to local storage or session storage
  • Anonymous profiles — your identity is never captured or linked to usage events

We track page views and access-request signups (role and interest only — never your email address) to understand how the tool is being used and to improve it. No personally identifiable information is included in any analytics event.

Because no cookies are set and no persistent identifiers are stored, PeriCatch does not require a cookie consent banner under GDPR, PIPEDA, or equivalent frameworks.

Regulatory Status

PeriCatch is designed and operated as a clinical decision support (CDS) tool, not a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).

In the United States: PeriCatch is intended to qualify for the CDS exemption under Section 3060 of the 21st Century Cures Act. It displays its basis for recommendations transparently (The Menopause Society's published guidelines) and is designed so that clinicians can independently review, verify, and override its outputs without relying on the software's logic alone.

In Canada: PeriCatch is designed with Health Canada's Software as a Medical Device Pre-market Guidance (February 2025), pending formal classification engagement with Health Canada. In the interim, PeriCatch is available as a clinical information tool only and should not be relied upon as a regulated medical device.

PeriCatch is not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA. It does not create, receive, transmit, or maintain Protected Health Information (PHI). Assessment responses are never transmitted off your device.

Clinical Disclaimer

The information provided by PeriCatch is for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice and is not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis, treatment, or care.

Always seek the advice of your physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or experienced through PeriCatch.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. PeriCatch is not designed for emergency use.

Scoring criteria in PeriCatch are based on The Menopause Society's published clinical staging guidelines. PeriCatch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to The Menopause Society. References to their framework are made for clinical transparency purposes.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

PeriCatch is developed by Agnes Laseinde, MD, operating under the MetaboLoop brand. This privacy policy and the use of PeriCatch are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada and applicable federal Canadian law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Users accessing PeriCatch from the United States acknowledge that the tool is operated from Canada and that their information (if any is provided via an access request) may be processed and stored in Canada and the European Union (Supabase EU data center).

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as PeriCatch evolves — particularly as Canadian regulatory engagement progresses and the tool moves toward a formal Health Canada classification. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
